27th May, Zhang Lei, Managing Director of the alumni-founded enterprise COCWONDER DIGITAL ENGINEERING SDN BHD and an esteemed graduate of the Class of 2005, returned to the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Environment to hold a dedicated recruitment event at the “Zhixue Space.” Party Secretary Peng Yuyuan attended the event in person, engaging in in-depth discussions with Zhang Lei and offering career guidance to students. Together, they marked a new milestone in university-industry collaboration.

In his presentation, Zhang Lei shared heartfelt reflections on the company’s development journey, highlighting its core strengths and strategic positioning cultivated through its involvement in Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link, a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative. He emphasized that the recruitment drive focuses on disciplines such as civil engineering, intelligent construction, and engineering management, aiming to identify interdisciplinary talents with solid technical foundations and innovative mindsets to invigorate the company’s expanding international ventures.

During the interactive session, Zhang Lei engaged in face-to-face discussions with current students, addressing key topics such as practical skill requirements for overseas projects and international career development paths. The company’s HR team also hosted an on-site “Resume Optimization Workshop,” providing targeted guidance to help students improve their experience presentation and core skill articulation, thereby enhancing their job market competitiveness.
Secretary Peng Yuyuan commended Zhang Lei and COCWONDER for their deep-rooted commitment to giving back to their alma mater. Drawing on the demands of international projects, he encouraged graduates to align personal development with the Belt and Road Initiative, and to strengthen three core competencies:
